The Wynn Las Vegas released updated odds Monday for the Breeders’ Cup’s most prestigious races set for Nov. 3 ($2 million Distaff) and Nov. 4 ($6 million Classic) at Del Mar.
A winner of three straight Grade I races and five of six stakes overall, Steve Asmussen-trained Gun Runner holds favoritism in the Classic at 6-5. His two top expected rivals — Arrogate and Collected, both trained by Bob Baffert — are 3-1 at the Wynn now with less than a month until race day.
There’s value in betting either of Baffert’s other contenders, West Coast (7-1) and Mubtaahij (15-1) — both coming off Grade I stakes wins. Keen Ice, a steady runner in last Saturday’s Grade I Jockey Club Gold Cup, sits at 12-1 for trainer Todd Pletcher.
In the Distaff, Stellwar Wind (8-5) and Forever Unbridled (9-5) enter in top form. Both have won three of their last four starts, with all but Forever Unbridled’s Fleur De Lis Handicap victory at Churchill Downs in Grade I competition.
Baffert also has Kentucky Oaks winner Abel Tasman in at 3-1 while Bill Mott-trained Elate is 4-1 at the Wynn.
