The Cavs are favored to win this series but Vegas knows the Celtics are cooked, as Cleveland's perfect 11-0 record this postseason and so far they have only shown very few weaknesses. In Friday's victory, the Cavaliers led by as many as 50 points and posted a wire-to-wire victory for the second game in a row. The Cavs set franchise playoff records in points (130) and margin of victory (+44). The 44-point win was also the largest in Eastern Conference Finals history, the Celtics biggest home loss in their postseason history and biggest defeat over a No. 1 seed.
Cleveland led by 41 points at halftime (72-31), which was the biggest lead at halftime in
NBA Playoff history. (Elias Sports Bureau). With the Spurs facing elimination tomorrow, there is likely only two more slates of daily fantasy basketball this season. At this point everyone is waiting on the Cavs vs Warriors series. With the exception of last night, every game in this Championship series’s have been decided been blowouts. It is imperative to pick the right punt players in order to get the studs to be successful.
The Cavs killed the Celtics in the garden beating them 117-106 in game 1 and embarrassed the Celtics 130-76 in game 2. Without Isaiah Thomas the result of the game will lie closer to game 2. Therefore, most DFS touts will prefer to stack the Warriors and Spurs in game 4 which leaves a lot of low owned cheap prospects to pick from in this massacre. If you want an incentive to watch the Cleveland massacre all the way through I would recommend playing these players.
Marcus Smart: Without Isaiah Thomas, Smart is a guy who should be in all of your DFS lineups tonight. Smart only cost 5,100 dollars on both sites. While playing the point guard positions without Thomas on the floor Smart possesses 28% usage rates and gains an increase of 1.78 fantasy points per minute. In addition, the narrative pressure of the Celtics to draft Markelle Fultz may motivate Smart to showcase his talent on a national stage.
Jaylen Brown: (2,100 Fanduel) (3,000 Draftkings): Brown’s performance was the only bright spot for the Celtics during game 2. Brown was Boston’s most efficient player scoring 19 points on 7-11 shooting while collecting 4 rebounds and 2 steals in just 24 minutes. Brown is arguably the Celtic’s best athlete, and they are gonna need his athleticism to have a chance of slowing down Lebron James. At this point, Stevens is aware that Boston doesn’t have a chance to win this series, so look for Stevens to give his number 3 overall pick very valuable experience.
Lebron James: Look for Lebron James to destroy the Celtics in Game 3. Lebron has averaged
about 60 fantasy points in the first two games, and the Celtics do not have a chance to stop them. James has averaged a 34% usage rate this series and is playing the most efficient basketball of his career. Lebron is the stud that you need to pay up for.
With only two more slates to go it's better to focus on Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. However, these are the three selections that should be the building blocks of your roster and they will put you in a good position going into second half of the slate on Monday.
